Range Closed Until Further Notice

In light of the Government and Public Health Authority advice issued in respect of avoiding social interactions and gatherings, we have taken the reluctant decision in the interests of members and volunteers health, safety and well being to temporarily close the club ranges until further notice.

We will keep members fully informed of any changes to this status on here, facebook and social media.

Whilst we understand that this will be of great disappointment to many of our members, we feel a duty to safeguard the health and well being of all of our members and we sincerely hope that you will all understand and support the reasons behind the decision.

We have not taken the decision lightly and will review the situation on a regular basis as events unfold.

Basic Induction Courses now offered to all new members!

Basic induction courses like the one below will start to be come common place and will be a condition of membership for new members, people attending so far have enjoyed the evening and found the focus to be informative, ask your range officer for details of the next session (they're new so be patient if the word hasn't got to all RO's yet!)

Come to the next induction course, they are intended to cover a broad spectrum of topics with emphasis on range design & safety and critical aspects of safety  when handling firearms. A recent evening consisted of a lesson and demonstration with slides to teach club rules and regulations and etiquette.  Students had to then fault spot a range rigged up wrongly as a method of confirmation that safety aspects have been assimilated which students enjoyed very much., The course was well attended by over 20 people. In recognition of attendance certificates were issued to each individual attending.

Recently we have had two MP's visiting us to hear our plans and see what we do for the sport and local groups like the scouts. Graham Brady gave some prizes on his visit. Alex Williams enjoyed some range time shooting as did Graham!

Introduction to target shooting

Altrincham Target Sports Centre (Altrincham Rifle and Pistol Club) is a club dedicated to the sport of target shooting.  Target shooting is an Olympic sport at which Britain excels with olympic success in the 80's and 90's and more recently several medals in the 2014 Commonwealth Games with England's Dan Rivers claiming Bronze in the Air Rifle and Gold in Target Rifle! England's Mick Gault equalled the Commonwealth Games record of 18 medals by winning bronze in the 10m air pistol competition at Glasgow 2014. Could you be next?

At Altrincham you can pursue several shooting disciplines - .22 target rifle, air rifle, air pistol, and sporting rifle.  Our club caters for a wide range of abilities, from shooters who compete at national level to complete beginners and people with physical disabilities. If you are unsure as to whether you could shoot contact us for advice.

If you have done some shooting before, we think you will like our facilities.  We have two indoor ranges - a 25 yard range for firearm shooting and a 10m air gun range equipped with automatic target changers.

If you think you have what it takes to learn to shoot - browse this site for more details and contact us.
